Physical Signs of Alcoholism

You cant see it you self when you drinking problem, in fact you will probably deny it for a while even when you suspect you may have a problem.  When you look at physical signs of alcoholism you may not think that you fit the bill, but if you are really honest with yourself you might find that you do have an alcohol abuse problem.  Here are some physical signs of alcoholism to look through and if you have any of these then you may indeed be an alcoholic.

1. Do you give up social events or activities because of alcohol?  One symptom of alcohol abuse is when you start showing up to social events, activities and even your job because you prefer to be drinking.

2. Have you put either yourself or others in danger?  If you have, and especially if it happens regularly then you really have a serious problem.

3. Can you go out and have just one or two drinks and then stop?  If you go out expecting to only have a couple of drinks but come home extremely drunk and can't even remember the evening, then you have a problem.  If you find that once you have a drink you just keep on going and just don't know when to stop, then this is a symptom of alcoholism.

4. Do you ever feel ashamed or guilty about your drinking?  You may not admit that you have a problem, but inside you actually feel ashamed and try to hide your drinking.  You need to take pride in yourself and stand up and admit that you have a drinking problem.

5. Is your drinking affecting other areas of your life?  Every day you make choices in your life that are based on what is important to you.  If your behavior is destructive to either you or others and you continue with that behavior anyway, then you are basically saying that your drinking is more important than those you hurt by your destructive behavior.  If your friends or your family are negatively affected by your drinking and yet you continue to drink, then you are saying that alcohol is more important than your family and friends.

6. Has your body built a tolerance to alcohol?  Does it take you more drinks to get the same buzz that you once got from just a couple of drinks?  When you first start drinking it may only take a couple of drinks to give you a buzz but as your build a tolerance to alcohol it takes more and more to get that same buzz.  Your body will then suffer more and more of the negative effects of drinking alcohol.  You may begin to experience other problems mentally, physically and socially.

7. Have you hurt someone as a result of your drinking?  When you drink too much you lose control over what you are doing and you can put yourself and others in a dangerous situation.  If you hurt someone physically while you are drunk imagine the consequences for that person.  What if you seriously hurt someone or even killed someone while you are drunk?  Or perhaps you have mentally hurt someone while you were drinking, although it doesn't have the same results as hurting someone physically, it can still have some devastating results.

If you have a drinking problem then it's time to stop lying to yourself, stop denying you have a problem and face the truth.  Look at these physical signs of alcoholism and if you have any of these then it's time to get help.

Effects Of Binge : Eating Are Serious

When someone hears the term bingeing they often just associate it with individuals who consume excess food while eating.  While many might consider weight gain as being the primary concern here there are many dangers of binge eating that can manifest over time if the proper treatment is not rendered.

When considering the other problems that can arise from this condition it can be broken down into two categories of complications: those that are emotional and those that are physical.  Each group has their own sense of urgency depending on the level of severity and if they are combined with other symptoms.

The emotional side of this condition can manifest itself as any number of symptoms.  The person may feel a sense of worthlessness, depression, lonely, or feel as if they are an outcast from friends and family, or even society, in general.  Their depression can even progress so deeply as to become thoughts of suicide.

Regardless of which of these signs are exemplified, it has the potential of limiting their abilities in performance, self-esteem or even something as simple as happiness.  The condition does not allow the individual to achieve any great lengths of these feelings and holds the individual at bay, trapping them in their own feeling of worthlessness.

Taking a look at complications from a physical aspect shows the tremendous ramifications that can be created.   The health complications that can form reads like a laundry list of ailments, each one a serious factor by themselves, but when combined with others can turn into a deadly combination.  Some of the health concerns that can be created are heart disease, high cholesterol, hypertension, problems with major organs such as kidneys, liver and gallbladder, digestive complications, diabetes and even cancer.

But there are also other complications that can begin as a result of the excess weight that these individuals often carry because of their affliction.  Joint pain and arthritis are very common as the joints are taxed beyond their limits from both the weight and lack of mobility and exercise.  Even the respiratory system can suffer, which, in itself, can affect mood and behavior.

The dangers of binge eating are not only visibly obvious, but they can also be present in both a physical and emotional states, as well.  That’s why it is important that friends and family notice subtle changes in behavior and eating patterns.  Being able to spot the potential problem early can prevent severe consequences from occurring down the road, which can lead to much more serious concerns.

Heart Murmur Definition

The usual sound made by the heart when there is trouble in blood flow is heart murmur definition.

There are two types of heart murmurs: innocent murmurs and abnormal murmurs. but we will be talking about the innocent heart murmur.

Innocent Heart Murmur

Innocent heart murmur is a normal heart, That is person with innocent heart murmur has a normal heart and can live a happy life. This type of heart murmur is common in newborns and children.

If a murmur is thought to be abnormal, a chest x-ray will normally be taken. An electrocardiogram is another common test, which measures the heartbeat. Treatment for abnormal murmurs varies according to the individual situation, but may include medicine or surgery. Innocent murmurs do not require treatment as the heart is normal and healthy.

If a heart murmur is related to another heart problem, other symptoms may be present. These may include blue colouring of the skin, fast breathing, chest pain, dizziness and shortness of breath. A heart murmur will normally be noticed during a physical examination in a routine checkup. There is a grading scale from 1 to 6 which GPs use to measure the volume of a heart murmur, and they also evaluate the pitch, timing, length and location of the sound, both within the heartbeat cycle and in the chest.

Heart Murmur In Kids - Danger Of Heart Murmur

The only way to know if you are in danger of heart murmur is to see your doctor. The next time you go for a check-up ask your doctor to listen carefully and make sure you do not have a heart murmur. Not everyone does, but if you should have one then you need to be referred to a heart specialist as soon  as possible.

Not that all heart murmurs are bad, some are called innocent for a reason. That reason is that they are benign and will not caused further problems in the future and even may resolve on their own.
A heart murmur is defined as, "any extra or unusual sound made by the heart as it beats." Your doctor may hear a slight whooshing sound as the blood leaks from one chamber of the heart through the valve to the next chamber of the heart. The valves normally keep the blood from leaking or even backing up into the previous chamber of the heart. Blood is supposed to move only one way through the heart. If it doesn't then serious problems can arise.

The cardiologist can tell what is happening by listening to your heart and will make his diagnosis of your condition by when he hears the "whooshing" sound within the heart beat. In other words, your cardiologist can tell just by listening where the problem is with the valves of your heart. If he hears the danger of heart murmur in the first half of the heart beat then the problem is probably with you mitral or tricuspid valve. If the murmur is in the second half of the heart beat then the problem lies in the pulmonic or aortic valve.

Heart Murmur In Kids, Any valve problem is considered serious because it can lead to far more serious conditions like heart failure or heart attack. The heart murmur in itself is not the problem but it can tell the doctor that there is a problem. If you are diagnosed with an innocent murmur then you will probably need no treatment but, if you are diagnosed with an abnormal heart murmur then you best get treatment started right away to minimize the damage and decrease the risk of heart failure.

Some children are born with heart problems. These kinds of defects are called congenital heart defects and usually come in the form of septal defects. A septal defect is essentially a hole in the heart. The septum is the tissue in the heart that separates the four chambers and can happen between the atria or the ventricles. The sizes of the holes may differ and the bigger the hole the louder the noise that the heart murmur will make.

Treatment for danger of heart murmur may begin with medications and therapy but if the condition is severe then surgery may be the only way to fix the problem. Especially if there is a hole in the heart or a valve is severely damaged. The hole can be stitched closed but if the valve is too severely damaged then the fix is to replace the valve with an artificial one.

Children With Heart Murmur Can Be Common

Children with heart murmur is very common. Generally, if your child is born with no birth defects like Down's Syndrome or other genetic abnormalities or even exposure to drugs and alcohol during pregnancy then the heart murmur is nothing to worry about and will cause no other health problems. It is important not to panic when your child's pediatrician tells you they have a heart murmur.

First, ask which type of heart murmur your child has. The best thing you can do for yourself and your child is to be as informed as is humanly possible. No matter what type of heart murmur your child has do your research and find out everything you can about it. Then you can be a great help in any and all treatment options your doctor prescribes. A heart murmur does not a death sentence make.
If your children with heart murmur is a serious condition, your doctor will probably refer your child to a cardiac specialist. This cardiac specialist will evaluate your child's condition further to determine the extent of heart damage and what course of treatment is best to follow.

There are two different types of heart murmurs, innocent and abnormal. A heart murmur that is typed as innocent are usually not a health risk and your child will probably grow out of it in time.
The other type of heart murmur is called abnormal because it is caused by a defect or other heart problem such as a hole in the heart at birth. If the defect is such that too much blood is backing up in the heart you may notice some symptoms in your child like the inability to bottle feed continuously without stopping to breathe, a bluish tint to the lips, and the inability to grow and thrive.

The cardiac specialist will classify your child's heart murmur in a number of ways to determine how bad it is. First, the heart murmur is graded from 1 to 6 for loudness or intensity. Grade 1 heart murmurs are very difficult to hear while grade 6 heart murmurs are loud and very easy to hear. While listening the cardiac specialist will classify your child's heart murmur as soft, blowing, or harsh with a high-frequency. Next, the location on the chest where the murmur can best be heard will be assessed along with where the heart murmur occurs in the cycle of heart beats.

If it is determined that your child has an abnormal heart murmur that is caused by a defect in a valve or your child was born with a small hole in their heart then surgery is probably recommended and the problem will be repaired. Medications may be prescribed as well to control symptoms and alleviate some of your children with heart murmur discomfort.

Binge Eating Treatment-Its Best To Seek Professional Support

For individuals who consume large quantities of food at every sitting, even when they are not hungry, this is known as bingeing.  Not only is the condition serious, but the complications that can arise from it are even more of a serious nature.  That’s why it is important for these individuals to seek binge eating treatment options.

Someone who is afflicted with this condition will uncontrollably eat massive quantities of food each and every time they sit down for a meal.  They are never hungry enough to justify the enormous amount of foods that are consumed, but they are completely unable to control their appetite.  When they eat, it is as if their body has been placed on “auto-pilot” without an ability to disable the action.

Since it is categorized as a compulsive disorder, it is unfair to assume that the individual has any control over their actions, nor that they possess the ability to change it.  Once they are set into motion, they are powerless against the need to continue eating, even long after the body has reacted with a feeling of being full.  As a result, these people are often overweight and even obese.

That’s why it is imperative that individuals with this condition seek professional help.  They must rely on outside intervention if the overpowering control is to be interrupted and treatment to be successful.  There are two main ways for this to be achieved: medication and psychotherapy.

But researchers continue to disagree over which area of the problem should be addressed first: being overweight or learning to deal with the overeating compulsion.  On one hand, treating the factors that allow the condition to consume its host means getting to the root of the problem so that it breaks the hold that food has over them.  This means addressing fears, anxiety, depression, anger, resentment and any number of other feelings that allows the brain to shift from making rational decisions to being completely out of control.

There are those that feel that the weight issue itself should be taken care of first since this will inevitably lead to other complications.  They feel that allowing the individual to continue consuming huge amounts of food puts them into deeper states of depression, which, in turn, helps the condition to repeat itself.

Regardless of which direction of binge eating treatment is taken, there has been phenomenal success achieved with certain medications.  Psychotherapy has also brought very favorable results and in some instances it has been necessary to combine both in order to help the individual.

Compared to 16.2m in 2006, the number of people using the internet in the UK has skyrocketed to 35.7m this year - representing 73% of the population. Meanwhile (unsurprisingly) the proportion of Britons who go online less often has fallen, but the numbers still seem surprisingly high; 7.4m did not use the internet at all in the last three months, that's 15% of the UK population. And 11% of people say they've never used a computer at all.

Health and Fitness News

Carrying extra body fat increases the risk for diabetes, heart disease and stroke, and also increases risk of cancer recurrence after a breast cancer diagnosis. A multi-institutional study presented at the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting 2015 shows that female breast cancer survivors are able to lose weight through modest lifestyle changes.

"This is a significant finding because it shows that women are able to lose weight after breast cancer treatment and this may lead to reduced risk of recurrence," says Tim Byers, MD, MPH, associate director for cancer prevention and control at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, and one of the study's authors.

"I think these findings show that we should now move forward with a larger study," says Byers. "If we can prove that intentional weight loss reduces breast cancer recurrence I believe weight control will become a routine part of oncology care."

The study, which lasted two years, followed 700 women at four sites around the United States (Denver, San Diego, Saint Louis, and Birmingham).

"The study was a randomized control trial in which half of the participants took part in lifestyle interventions. The goal was to lose seven percent of their body weight and maintain it for two years," says Rebecca Sedjo, PhD, assistant researcher professor at CU Cancer Center, and collaborator in the trial. In the first 12 months the average weight loss for the intervention group was six percent of their body weight.

In order to make lifestyle changes the women in the intervention group attended motivational meetings that focused on increasing physical activity and decreasing caloric intake. The meetings tapered off from once a week to once a month in the first year. In the second year, newsletters were sent to participants to encourage continued weight control.

"We don't need to focus on getting to the 'ideal' body type, whatever that may be," says Byers. "If we can prove that modest weight loss improves the chance of better outcomes after breast cancer we need to encourage and support that."

Binge Eating Support Groups-Key To Success

Sometimes a person experiences ac condition that requires more support than can be achieved from just friends or family.  Bingeing is one of those areas.  Since it is a condition that largely transpires in private, binge eating support groups are an excellent way to counter the desire to overeat.

The main goal in getting adequate treatment for this condition is to not eat alone.  That is the first step, and it is a crucial one, too.  Having accountability will force the individual to notice that they are experiencing a problem and it makes them relate to what it is doing to them at that instance.  Recounting the damage that has been inflicted later on is of no use since it has already occurred.  Spotting it early means stopping it before it becomes too large of an issue.

That’s why getting the support of others is an excellent motivational tool because it allows the person to see it from the eyes of someone else.  Hearing that they are not alone in their affliction shows them that there are others who struggle with the same concerns that they have.  This helps to dilute the feeling of loneliness and desperation.

Talking and sharing with others will help to motivate the person to open up more.  Since bingeing normally occurs in private, this is a critical component to making a recovery.  They will find that the more they talk about what is happening and how they react and feel about it the better they will be able to deal with their concerns.

Being a part of one of these groups is also important in that you have access to others whenever you need it.  This could easily occur outside of the scheduled meeting times so knowing that someone is there to lean on for support, and who understands exactly what you are going through, will help the individual to stay on track.

One reason that these sessions are so vital to treatment is that it gives each person a chance to bounce ideas off of one another.  This is an excellent way to pick up tips on dealing with the condition itself, or the complications that arise from having it.

Binge eating support groups are put into place to allow individuals to rely on each other so that no one feels as if they are fighting through their condition alone.  It is another important step in treating a condition that can easily devastate a life.

Binge Eating Success-It Is Possible With Support

For those who have a tendency to binge, this is a clear indication that something may be terribly wrong.  This is a condition that can spiral out of control until the individual experiences a host of both physical and emotional complications.  In order to be a binge eating success story, you have to be willing to accept that there is a real problem and that you want help for it.

As with other conditions, denial is a problem with bingers.  They may feel as if things are not quite right, but they retreat into their own world where food takes over and does the reasoning for them.  That’s why it is imperative that friends and family notice subtle changes in a person’s demeanor and appetite, as well as any physical changes that seem to be occurring.

It is possible to get treatment for this condition as long as the person is confronted in the right manner.  They are going to feel lonely, depressed and an overall sense of being an outcast.  They will also often put on weight even though their eating patterns may not seem to have changed.  That is because they are hiding food and eating in private.  Since these foods are often the wrong types of foods high in fat, calories and sugar they cause significantly more damage.

Once a problem has been spotted it is imperative that the individual be persuaded to talk to a professional.  There are a number of ways that treatment can be rendered but since different individuals respond differently to various methods it might be necessary to try several different options to determine which one will work best for their particular case.

The most common treatments are medications and psychotherapy.  Sometimes, it is necessary for the two to be combined- depending on the severity of the condition.  Both have proven results in treating the condition.

Something else that goes with these treatments is that the individual not be left alone with food.  This condition is also known as compulsive eating for a reason.  For sufferers, once they begin eating they are not able to determine when to stop.  That’s why all meals should be eaten around others so that the person can be monitored.  Having accountability is the key to stopping the condition from escalating even further.

It will also be necessary for the individual to have routine searches of all of their private locations such as their room, locker, car, etc.  Anywhere that food can be stashed is a potential opportunity for them to backslide.  In order to become a binge eating success story, it is necessary to implement all of these practices.

Binge Eating In Men-Its Not Just A Womens Disorder

The thing to remember about bingeing is that it does not know boundaries.  Anyone, of any age, and any background, can succumb to the effects of this condition.  What many people don’t realize is that there is even binge eating in men.  Finding the source of what causes it in them is just as important as with anyone else.

When someone discusses anorexia or bulimia, they automatically assume that it is a condition that only affects women, but this is simply not the case.  Also known as compulsive eating, it has the ability to manifest itself in anyone.  This is why many men are able to get by with their condition must easier than women since no one is focusing on them.

The treatment is the same for individuals whether they are male or female.  The first part of laying groundwork for treatment is to determine exactly why the condition has occurred in the first place.  Once this is known, it is much easier to come up with a course of action that will yield the best results.  Without knowing the cause, it is difficult to know where and when temptation may surface.

Our society tends to portray a man as a stronger force that will not let his emotions be exposed as easily as a woman.  But once a man is alone, their psyche can become diminished quite easily from depression, loneliness, despair or feelings of abandonment from family, friends or even society.  As with a woman, a man will respond in like fashion by looking for a resolution to their pain by using food.  The difference between the sexes is that the public, and even friends and family, will look for the signs in women much easier and quicker than they will in a man.

The disease can be just as dangerous and deadly as it is for others.  The same ill effects can occur with the same disastrous results.  Finding someone that a man will agree to confide in is rather difficult for them, which is another reason why detection is often overlooked.  It is also why they typically will not seek help from a professional since they believe that there is nothing wrong and that they might even be considered less of a man for having the condition in the first place.

There is often a stigma that women are the only ones with disorders relating to food, but assuming that binge eating in men does not occur means not looking out for important signs that something is tragically wrong.

Binge Eating Disorder-More Common Than You Think

It is often common for individuals to overeat on certain occasions, such as a special meal or during the holidays.  But what you ate every meal in this fashion?  That’s what occurs for those who suffer from a binge eating disorder.  To them, no special requirement is necessary in order to consume large quantities of food.

Approximately 2 million people from differing backgrounds have this condition.  It does not single out certain groups according to ethnicity or age.  In fact, an alarming fact is that it can even be found in children.

People with this type of affliction are often overweight, if not obese, although it is not a necessity in order to have the condition.  They find it necessary to consume massive quantities of food at every sitting, even though they are not hungry.  When a person begins to eat, it takes the stomach approximately 20 minutes to register what has been eaten and to notify the brain that it is full.  That’s why the recommendation is to wait this period of time between helpings to give the body time to signal that no more food is necessary.

But in these extreme cases, there is no cutoff, nor does the brain intervene.  The individual is so adept to continuing in their eating that they pay no attention to the body or the brain as a way of stopping.  And not only do they consume large quantities of food, but they do so very quickly, which further complicates the matter.

Many times, others may think that these individuals do not care or that they might even wish to be overweight, but that is simply not the case. In fact, research has shown that those who suffer from this condition do so because of a loss of control, which is why the condition has also been known as compulsive eating.  The compulsion to continue eating is there, but not the will to stop.
There is any number of triggers that can set off one of these eating sessions.  It can be anything ranging from guilt, to fear, anger, resentment, depression or even stress.  When one of these times occurs, the binger is looking for solace in the food, even though they typically feel guilty and upset while they are doing it.

The treatment for a binge eating disorder is medication, psychotherapy, or even a carefully designed combination of both.  Regardless of the course of treatment, the main goal is to determine what the triggering mechanisms are and to learn to effectively deal with them without the use of food.

Your Best Treatment For Acne Scarring Or Is It

Acne is probably the most common skin ailment. While there are no concrete figures, it's safe to assume that it affect millions of people around the world. Furthermore, it can affect anybody, regardless of age or gender. To make matters worse, acne scars can be visible long after the acne itself has cleared up. There is some good news in that you can choose from more than one treatment for acne scarring. However, you should know that not all acne scarring is the same, and that means not all treatments will work in all cases. Therefore, you should be sure to talk to a qualified medical professional about the options that are best for you and your particular situation.

Note: What follows should not be considered medical advice. Instead, it is meant to be informational so you can have a better conversation with your doctor when discussing your options.

Dermabrasion has been around for a long time, and has been used successfully by many people. This basically involves the precise removal of the outer layer of skin and is typically performed as an outpatient procedure. The downside is that recovery is often painful, and can last several weeks. It also requires careful post-procedure care.

More recent developments have brought about an exciting treatment for acne scarring; namely laser resurfacing. It tends to be more expensive than dermabrasion, and not all doctors are yet familiar with how to do it. But the benefits are many. For starters it is more precise, and depth is more easily controlled. The recovery time is also much shorter than, and less painful than dermabrasion.

Chemical peels for the removal of acne scars are a better option for you if your scars are mild. In simple terms, it's applying acid to the face to get rid of the outer layer of the skin. Once the old skin is gone, healthy new cells start to grow to take their place. Some people feel minor discomfort, while others can't tolerate the procedure at all. That being said, a chemical peel can often be done in as little as 15 minutes, so it's quick (though it may take several sessions to achieve the desired results).
Deeper "ice pick" acne scars usually require more invasive methods. One is uses a punch tool to cut out tissue, and then this is allowed to heal, or skin from another part of the body may be grafted in. There will be scarring, but the idea is that the new scarring will be much more controlled, and therefore minimized in comparison to the current scars. This is more invasive, but if you have severe scarring that is affecting your self-esteem, then it is definitely a viable option.

So, with all of the options that are available, it's really just a matter of finding the treatment for acne scarring that's best for you. Now that you have a better idea of some of the methods for reducing scars, you can talk to your doctor and get the problem fixed once and for all.

Your Best Body Building Programs

If you have spent any amount of time looking into getting fit, then you know that there is a near-endless stream of advice about the best way to do it. Perhaps you have even tried several different plans to help yourself get into shape. It can be quite confusing trying to decide what works, and what doesn't. However, when it comes to getting healthy, body building programs should be incorporated into your routine.

Of course there is no shortage of various body building programs, either. The problem isn't that there is too much information, the problem is that far too much of it is made for a general audience. Now, that may not be a big deal if you happen to stumble on a plan that is targeting somebody like you, but that's a gamble at best, and can do more harm than good at worst.

Before you get the wrong idea about body building, you should know that it doesn't mean you will end up looking like some muscle-bound man who is more a freak of nature (well "freak of steroids" is usually more accurate). Instead, you will look more trim, toned and ready to take on the world. It's a way of looking your best--and more importantly--feeling your best.

So, you would like to start a program, but you're not sure what's best for you? There is a simple solution: get a personal trainer. If you are concerned about how expensive they, don't be. Sure, there are plenty of expensive trainers, but they tend to cater to celebrities and the wealthy. A lot of trainers have reasonable rates, and investing in your health is always a good idea. If you have any friends that currently have a trainer, then ask them for their recommendation.

You may also be able to find a personal trainer at your local gym. At the very least, you should be able to get some advice on the best body building programs for you. There should also be somebody at the gym who can show you how to properly operate all of the equipment and explain what muscles are being targeted.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is more to body building than just exercise and lifting weights. If you want to see real results, then you also have to watch what you eat. Don't worry, you can still enjoy all of your favorite foods, you just have to go about it the right way. You will be working out quite often, and the food you eat is what will fuel your body for your workouts. Fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein are all good choices.

Whatever body building programs you choose, the key is to get started. You don't have to wait until you find one that's "perfect", that would be a mistake. Also, it won't always be easy and it will take work, but it will be worth it once you see the results.

Whats The Best Acne Scars Solution For You

Acne is the most common skin condition, and while it is normally thought of as affecting adolescents, the truth is that it can strike at any age. It may not be such a problem if its effects were temporary. However, acne can leave its mark. Perhaps that's why so many people are looking for an acne scars solution to fix their problem. The good news is that there are several treatment options available, depending on your specific scarring issues.

Microdermabrasion is an effective solution that has been used by people across the globe. It is a skin treatment that helps to repair scarred, damaged skin, and has even been known to reduce future acne outbreaks in some patients. The procedure is done with a device that can be thought of as a fine particle sandblaster. It sprays small crystals around the face and agitates them. This agitation abrades of the dead outer layer of skin.

Each treatment can take up to a half-hour. The main side effect is red skin, with some people reporting soreness or tenderness. However, it usually takes more than one treatment to achieve the desired results. It can take five or more treatments, and each session should be at least a week apart to make sure the skin has healed enough to handle the next treatment.

Microdermabrasion is not the same treatment as dermabrasion. This particular treatment (dermabrasion) can work well for those who have rounded, shallow scars. Again, there are potential side effects, and not everyone has the same results from the procedure. Typically speaking, those with darker skin coloration will have a harder time seeing their desired results. The other problem is that it can leads to skin blotches or discoloration. Dermabrasion is done with a device that actually scrapes of the top layer of skin. Therefore, it can't be performed on those who currently have acne.
A local anesthetic may be applied to make the area numb. Dermabrasion can take 30 to 90 minutes and is usually done as an outpatient procedure. However, the recovery times are much longer than with microdermabrasion. The skin tends to be red and quite swollen after the work is done, and can take up to two weeks to subside. After that your skin will still be pink and this can last for as much as three months. There will also be many things you will have to do once at home to make sure there aren't any post-procedure complications. Then, after all of that, you still won't know what the final results are for a few months.

Another option for acne scars solution is laser resurfacing. This uses a laser to very precisely destroy the skin so new skin cells can regrow and replace the damaged cells. While it's still a relatively new procedure, it is showing a lot of promise in the treatment of acne.

The information above is not meant to replace qualified professional advice. Therefore, you should always talk to your doctor about the treatments that are best for you.

Beauty and Health

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live.

The first wealth is health.

The groundwork of all happiness is health.

If eyes were made for seeing, Then Beauty is its own excuse for being.

He thought it happier to be dead, To die for Beauty, than live for bread.

Fair tresses man's imperial race insnare, And beauty draws us with a single hair.

Beauty is truth, truth beauty - that is all, Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.

If to her share some female errors fall, Look on her face, and you'll forget them all.

The sovereign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best.

There's lots of people who spend so much time watching their health, they haven't got time to enjoy it.

Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.

To array a man's will against his sickness is the supreme art of medicine.

To get rich never risk your health. For it is the truth that health is the wealth of wealth.

The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.

The sorrow which has no vent in tears may make other organs weep.

In youth and beauty wisdom is but rare!

Give me the splendid silent sun, with all his beams full-dazzling!

I would define, in brief, the Poetry of words as the Rhythmical Creation of Beauty. Its sole arbiter is Taste.

True beauty dwells in deep retreats, Whose veil is unremoved, Till heart with heart in concord beats, And the lover is beloved.

Lo! the moon ascending! Up from the East, the silvery round moon; Beautiful over the house-tops, ghastly, phantom moon; Immense and silent moon.

A fool there was and he made his prayer, (Even as you and I), To a rag and a bone and a hank of hair, (We called her the woman who did not care), But the fool he called her his lady fair.

I wiped away the weeds and foam, I fetched my sea-born treasures home; But the poor, unsightly, noisome things, Had left their beauty on the shore, With the sun and the sand and the wild uproar.

Health and Fitness Quotes

Do yourself a favor, and realize that there’s no technique in the world that will save you. There are no pills, no secrets, no passwords on the path to greatness. Even Caversham Health and Fitness, lake forest health and fitness or westwood health and fitness wont help you do the work, You’ve got to embrace the pain, push the threshold, and feel the suck, and then you’ve got to muster the courage to go back six times a week.

If you’re fifty, exercise your mind and body regularly, eat well, and have a general zest for life, you’re likely younger – in very real, physical terms – than your neighbor who is forty-four, works in a dead-end job, eats chicken wings twice a day, considers thinking too strenuous, and looks at lifting a beer glass as a reasonable daily workout.

A man is born gentle and weak. At death, he is hard and stiff. Green plants are tender and filled with sap. At death, they are withered and dry. Therefore, the stiff and unbending is the disciple of death, and the gentle and yielding is the disciple of life.

Health and Fitness Essay : Essay on Health and Fitness

Many people do not realize, and often underestimate, the importance of good health. Health, as they say, is wealth. Good health is necessary to carry out daily tasks. When discussing healthy, many people would consider the condition of their bodies and forget about the condition of their minds. However, health is not only about alleviating and being free from physical aspects of health. It also means being healthy in mind too.

An unhealthy mind results in an unhealthy body. Good mental health helps you to make the most of life and enjoy it. Good mental health offers you a feeling of well-being and the inner strength needed in times of trouble or unrest. Everyone knows how to care for their bodies. This is done almost every day by the majority of people. Exercise and eating the proper foods are the best ways of keeping the body healthy. But, how does one keep the mind healthy? A healthy mind requires a lot of work, as well as, a combination of the right foods and exercise.

Most often, the food consumed has a pivotal effect on the body, as well as, the mind. A healthy diet consists of the right food groups with right number of calories. It does not contain an excess of sugar, salt, fat and alcohol. Selecting the right foods that provide energy helps the body to be healthy. This also helps the mind. An energized person is a happy person. Happiness is a state of mind. Without proper energy, a person can become angry, tired and sad. These are not good for the mind.

Exercise is extremely important to staying healthy both in body and mind. Being active can help a person continue to do things they enjoy and be independent as they age. Long term physical activity increases the benefits of long-term health. This is the reason many health experts advise individuals to be as active as possible and to set aside at least three days a week for some form of activity that keeps the heart beating at a steady pace. Physical exercise also has many mental benefits. For example, a person diagnosed with depression or anxiety is most often asked to conduct some form of physical activity apart from taking medication. This is because, the body produces hormones known as endorphins which improve mood and relieve stress. Depression can be alleviated by improving mood and anxiety can be relieved by reducing stress.

Another method of keeping the mind healthy is to exercise it as often as possible. Just as physical exercise is good for the body, so is mental exercise for the mind. There are numerous ways to ensure a healthy mind through activity. For example, doing cross word puzzles, calculating sums in the head, learning a new word every day etc. can be extremely beneficial for the mind. This form of mental exercise is not only for the elderly. It is for all individuals who wish to keep their minds healthy.
Very few individuals take the time to care for themselves with busy lifestyles and schedules. However, taking care of yourself is the best way of ensuring you live a long healthy life, not only physically, but also mentally.  (Health and Fitness Essay or Essay on Health and Fitness)

What Body Building Techniques Are Best For You

Getting fit is big business. There are tons of books, videos, guides and websites that all promise to show you the real way to finally get into shape. The truth is that almost every one of can work to some degree. However, not all body building techniques will work for all people. So, if you have tried other programs in the past, don't give up. It's not your fault that you couldn't make them work for you. It simply means that they weren't developed for people like you. The good news is that there are plans out there for virtually everyone, it's just a matter of finding the right one.

In the meantime, however, you shouldn't use your search for the "perfect plan" as an excuse to not get into shape. To be blunt, that would be foolish. You need to take responsibility for your own health, and that includes your physical fitness. Okay, I know you didn't come here for a lecture, and that's not my intent. It's just another way of saying that it won't always be easy, and you will sometimes need motivation to continue following the body building techniques you decide to use.

Assuming you have tried other fitness plans, only to eventually stop following them, you know how hard it can be to stick with them. But why is that? As mentioned earlier, it's not your fault, the plan just wasn't right for you. The other reason you most likely didn't stick with it is that you didn't have enough motivation. Let's face it, exercise isn't always the most fun thing to do. One solution is to get a personal trainer.

A lot of people balk at that idea because they think personal trainers are too expensive, or that only celebrities use them. The truth is that there a plenty of affordable trainers available. The benefit of having a trainer is that you will have somebody that can figure out what the best body building techniques are for you, specifically. They will assess your current state of health, and your abilities, then they will take that information and use it to help you reach your goals.

Unfortunately, not everybody has access to a personal trainer in their area. No need to worry, though. You can always go to your local gym and talk to somebody about your fitness goals. They should be able to tell you which exercises and body building techniques are best for you. Then they can show you which equipment to use, and which muscles they target. While this won't give you the same one-on-one attention that you would get from a trainer, it will be enough to get you on the right track.

Finally, there is one thing that will make the difference between failure and success: taking consistent action. You can follow the best body building techniques, but if you only do them a few times and then try the "next greatest thing", then you won't get to where you want to be. On the other hand, if you stick with it, and do so on a regular basis, then you'll be surprised at just how quickly you can reach your fitness goals.

What Are The Best Exercises For Weight Loss And Good Health

Diet is not the only option for losing weight and in fact diet is much more effective when combined with exercise for losing weight and also for keeping that weight off.  It is important to watch calorie intake and exercise to burn off any excess calories.  For the best weight loss results you should aim for around one pound a week weight loss.

But what are the best exercises for weight loss?  There is the option of joining a gym with the hope of losing weight and becoming fitter but many people will soon lose motivation at the gym particularly if they are going alone.

When you are exercising to lose weight it is important to stay motivated so you don't want to do exercises that you don't like or you will love motivation very quickly.  If you aren't comfortable going to the gym then don't go to the gym because you just won't enjoy your exercise and you won’t stay motivated.  If you like jogging then go for a jog in the park each day.  If you like martial arts then join a martial arts class.  You will improve your chance of sticking to your exercise routine if you are enjoying it.

When you are considering what type of exercise to do you should be aware that there are two main types of exercise and you will get the best results if you can combine both types.

Firstly there is aerobic exercise which is high cardio because it increases the heart rate and oxygen intake levels.  Due to this increase the body burns more calories to try and compensate for the demands of increased energy.  Aerobic exercises include basketball, jogging, walking, cycling, swimming and football.  Cardio exercises are good for burning calories but are even more effective when combined with strength exercises.

Strength or resistance training works differently than aerobic exercises.  Strength training doesn't increase the heart rate, instead it builds muscle mass through short bursts of energy. Strength training includes weight lifting, sit ups, push ups, squats and exercising with resistance bands.

The best type of weight loss exercise program combines both aerobic and strength exercises.  A combination exercise routine could include 10 seconds on a cross trainer followed by 30 seconds of push ups and repeat this cycle for around 30 minutes total.  Basically it is a short burst of aerobic exercise followed by a slightly longer burst of strength training.

There are a number of different choices available when it comes to combination exercise routines.  You need to consider your current fitness level before choosing which exercises to begin with.
For some people a combination exercise routine might not be advisable so they may prefer a 30 minute walk each day instead.  Starting out slowly with a walk each day and working up to a higher intensity as you become fitter is the best way to go.  As your fitness improves then you can try some aerobic and strength exercises.

When you combine strength and aerobic exercises you will burn more calories than just using aerobic exercises on their own.  The type of exercise will depend on what suits you and your lifestyle but remember that by choosing a combination exercise routine you will be well on your way to reaching your goal weight.

Various Acne Facial Scars And How To Treat Them

While there are no solid statistics, it's likely that millions of people across the globe suffer from acne facial scars. It's bad enough that the condition typically strikes during adolescence, but the scarring can leave its mark for the rest of your life if left untreated. This has a negative effect on you self-esteem and appearance, as you will see however, there is hope.

Acne scars, the same as other scars are the result of some injury or wound. Scarring is the result of the skin doing its job of healing. Anything that causes damage to the dermis can result in scarring. It's the inflamed skin lesions that lead to acne scars. There are several kinds of acne facial scars, and their treatment depends on certain factors.

Wide, oval or round depressions with steep sides are commonly called 'boxcar scars'. These happen when an outbreak damages the collagen, resulting in a loss of tissue. The best acne treatments for this type of scarring are dermal fillers, punch excision or elevation, or laser resurfacing.

Deep and narrow scars go by the ominous name of 'ice pick scars'. They get their name from the skin looking as though it were pierced with a sharp instrument. Such acne scars are the result of a deeper infection (such as from a cyst). The punch technique is often used to treat ice pick scars. This procedure involves removing the scar and stitching up the surgical wound.

'Rolling scars' resemble waves, and are often treated wit subcision. This is where a scar is removed from the deeper tissue, allowing for the pooling of blood beneath the scar. This then raises it up to give a more level appearance.

Keloid or hypertrophic scars are bright red and raised. While they can show up on your face, they are more typically found on other parts of your body. The big problem with these scars is that they can get bigger than the initial wound that caused them. This is the result of a triggering of too much collagen as a response to an acne breakout. Some of the more common treatments for these scars are tapes, cortisone creams or injections to flatten and shrink the scar. Laser treatment is also showing some promise for these scars.

The best way to reduce acne scarring is prevention. Do what you can to reduce or eliminate acne outbreaks in the first place. If you do experience an outbreak, don't squeeze, scratch or pick at anything. This only serves to push the infection deeper, and to spread to other areas you touch on your skin afterward. Picking at scabs should also be avoided, as doing so only lengthens the body's natural healing process, and increases the potential effects of scarring.

However, even if you follow all of that advice, you may still develop acne facial scars. In that case, visit a qualified dermatologist to discuss your options. Speaking of which, none of the above information is meant to replace professional medical advice, so always talk to your doctor when in doubt.
