Irritable Bowel Syndrom And Constipation - Treatment

When you have irritable bowel syndrom and constipation is your biggest problem, there are several things you can do to relieve this problem. Irritable bowel syndrom is a disorder of the intestines that causes abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence and bloating. There is no concern that irritable bowel syndrom causes cancer or changes the intestines in any way but those who have irritable bowel syndrom know that this disorder can be very distressing and can affect a person's life in a very negative sense.

Changing the way you eat may be necessary not only to control irritable bowel Syndrom but the constipation that accompanies this disorder of the bowel. Eating a diet rich in fiber, can help relieve the constipation. Fiber can be found in fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain breads and cereals. Your daily intake of fiber should equal approximately 30 grams per day.

You may have found that in order to effectively treat your irritable bowel Syndrom you have had to cut out most of the dairy foods you have eaten in the past. This can be of benefit to you when dealing with irritable bowel Syndrom and constipation also because dairy foods, like cheese, have been known to contribute to constipation.

Drink plenty of water, at least the recommended eight, 8 ounce glasses per day. Increased fluid intake will help your colon absorb the water it needs to relieve or even prevent constipation. Stay away from coffee and other caffeinated beverages because caffeine is what is called a diuretic and can have a drying effect on your body, therefore increasing the likelihood you will develop constipation.

Get regular exercise. All you need is 30 minutes of some type of aerobic exercise 3 times per week. You will be surprised how this small amount of exercise will make such a big difference in how you feel and when the constipation is relieved and you start having regular bowel movements you will feel even better. You do not need to go join a gym either, just start taking walks after dinner or if it works better for you then take your walk in the morning. Start your day out right.

If you find that your constipation does not get relieved by any of these methods then you may need to resort to medications to get relief. There are plenty of over the counter laxatives you can try. If the decision is too confusing though, get some advice from your doctor to find out what he recommends. You may only need to take a laxative one time so you have a bowel movement and clear up the problem. Then the other methods detailed above may work better for you. Always take your medications as directed or as prescribed by your doctor.

Once you start the above methods do not stop them abruptly. If you do then basically you will send your system into a type of shock and the symptoms of irritable bowel Syndrom and constipation will return and may be worse than they were to begin with.

Herbs To Lower Blood Pressure

When most people hear the word “High Blood Pressure”, they automatically associate it with elderly people.  However, that’s not the case.  Any person, at any age can have High Blood pressure.

As a matter of fact, the American Heart Association states that nearly one out of three people have blood pressure problems. Nearly one-third of those people don’t even know they have problems with their blood pressure.

Today many people take medications to lower or fix their blood pressure problems.  However, what we heard from our grandmothers or parents about herbs to lower blood pressure was something that most doctors would turn their nose up at. That’s not the case anymore, as most doctors now recommend those same herbs.

Here are some natural ingredients and herbs to lower your blood pressure.

1. Garlic- I know, I know, you thought it was just for pizza and fighting vampires. Well, this one stinky herb not only allows your breath to smell bad, it also breaks up toxins that can lead to high blood pressure.  Garlic also reduces the chances of clotting with in the blood vessels; it also keeps blood platelets from sticking to the blood vessel walls.

2  Vitamin C- Growing up we heard that we need to drink our orange juice to get our vitamin c so we won’t get sick.  That turned out to be true, (see, our parents did know what they were talking about)
Researchers found out that if a person can take in its recommended dosage of the vitamin c, then it can greatly reduce the risk of their getting hypertension aka high blood pressure.

3.Dandelion- Who would have ever thought a weed could help you get healthy. Well there is at least one, the dandelion roots and leaves can be used to make tea which can act as a mild diuretic.
These are just a few herbs that can help lower a person’s blood pressure. Know this, using herbs alone should not be the only way a person should attack this situation. Always check with your physician to see if medication is required and that the herbs you use will not conflict with your blood pressure medication.

And for gosh sakes don't forget to exercise at least 20 to 30 minutes every day. A brisk walk can work wonders for your mind, body and spirit.

If a you will combine the things mentioned in this article  to your everyday life, you will have a much better chance at defeating high blood pressure. Giving you the freedom to concentrate on your loved ones and friends.

Weight Gain Menopause - Natural Remedies

How do you stop weight gain menopause from ruining your life? Just like any other weight loss plan, you have to choose what is right for you and stick to it. You may need to make some changes if you want to get and stay thin and healthy.

For one week, keep a food journal and see for yourself in black and white what kinds of things you put in your mouth on a daily basis. You may be surprised at the things you eat. After you have kept your food journal for a week then you can make whatever changes you need to and start to eat healthy meals.

Portion control is important. We all know that good food tastes good and we go back for seconds almost unconsciously. You need to stay conscious about what you are doing with food, especially after menopause.

If you do not want to be one of the 2/3 of women in menopause who gain upwards of 15 pounds, then make the changes your body needs you to make. This includes some form of daily exercise.

Walking, biking, jogging, playing tennis, swimming or whatever floats your boat, just get out there and do it. You won't be as fast as you were when you were young or have the rhythm and coordination you used to. But, the more you do whatever it is you do, the better you will get at it and when you get to be in better shape you will no longer have to worry about weight gain menopause.

weight gain is caused by a number of factors that can be overcome whenever you want to overcome them. Overeating is one reason and that can be overcome by watching your portions at every meal as I have explained above.

Weight gain is caused by decreased physical activity. All that needs to be done to overcome this is to get regular exercise on a daily basis. Make a pact with yourself and try hard not to let yourself down. You will be the only one who suffers. Start slow if you have to and work your way up to a nice moderate level routine.

A couple of things to watch out for when learning to pace yourself during a work out, you should be able to carry on a casual conversation with your work out partner during your work out. If you cannot then you are probably working too hard and should slow done a bit. And you should be perspiring slightly when you are done with your work out

Another factor of weight gain is hormones and this is what we are talking about here today. Hormones produced by the ovaries are waning and the hormones produced by other glands in the body get confused. Metabolism slows down and we just don't burn the fuel we put in our bodies like we used to. Weight gain menopause is a gradual thing and before you know it you are considered obese.

Home Remedies For Male Menopause- Yep - Male Andropause

Treatment for male menopause, or Andropause, focuses on increasing the amounts of testosterone and cortisol and treating the symptoms. Symptoms can be much like those experienced by women.

Other symptoms or physiological factors that can be present in men are - erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass, decreased sex drive, mood changes, weight gain, urinary problems caused by an enlarging prostate, hot flashes, the development of breast tissue due to the decrease of testosterone, hair loss, irritable male syndrome, sleep apnea, and depression.

As men reach the age of 40 the production of the hormone testosterone is gradually decreased over time and can result in male menopause symptoms. Since these symptoms can also be related to other conditions it is best to consult your doctor and have some tests run to rule out the other conditions.

Testosterone is important not only for building muscle and maintaining a normal sex drive but plays a part in several functions like bone formation, liver function, growth of the prostate gland and the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow.

Diagnosis of male menopause is made by blood tests and one treatment for male menopause is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Obviously, there are risks as well as benefits to this type of treatment and hormone declines can be treated easily.

Treatment includes not only the testosterone replacement but also an individualized nutrition plan along with supplements and a regular exercise plan. You don't have to feel older than you really are. With this type of treatment you can start to feel younger and more alive than you have in a long time. You can start doing the things you thought you would not be able to do anymore.

According to the US Census Bureau, approximately 5 million men have low testosterone and the symptoms that go along with it. But only 5-10% of these men will go to their doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

This is because most men believe that any decline in sexual function or any of the other symptoms related to Andropause are just signs of normal aging. This is far from the truth. It is not normal to feel depressed all the time, can't sleep or have gained so much weight in such a short time.

If you just do not feel like yourself there is help out there for you. All you have to do is realize that something may be wrong and then make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss your symptoms and get some tests run. No big deal and probably worth the effort if you could start to feel like yourself again.

This is what used to be called having a midlife crisis. Men would all of a sudden leave their wives of 25 years and find a girlfriend in her 20's or go buy a motorcycle or fancy sports car to try to compensate for the feelings they are feeling. Research and studies and testing have shown that testosterone is the culprit and treatment for male menopause is probably saving many marriages.

Vaginal Yeast Infection Treatment - Fast Treatment By Your Doctor

Yeast infections are no fun, just ask any woman who has had one. They make you feel lousy and with the burning and itching it's just hard to concentrate on much else. Today there are several different methods of vaginal yeast infection treatment. For most women it's best to see your doctor right away, as soon as you start to feel something is wrong. The sooner you seek treatment the sooner you can get rid of this nasty infection and get back to your life.

Most women will experience many yeast infections throughout their lives, sad but true. Yeast infections are caused when the growth of the Candida albicans bacteria is not held in check. This happens when something occurs that throws the Ph of your body out of balance.

There are many things that can cause such upheaval in a woman's body. The most common reasons are your monthly cycle, menopause, pregnancy, taking antibiotics, being overly stressed out, birth control pills and taking steroids. As you can see from this list, there are many causes that you simply have no control over.
True, some things you may be able to control such as your stress level, but for the most part you are at the mercy of your own body. For many women the best they can hope for is to get over the infection as quickly as possible and that can be done by finding effective vaginal yeast infection treatment options.

Many women won't go to their doctor each time they get a yeast infection since they've had so many they know what it is and how to treat it. There are now over the counter medications that can help clear up your infection so you don't need to make a trip to the doctor.

If you've never had a yeast infection before and you're not real sure if what you have going on is a yeast infection or something else, you should see your doctor. You should also see your doctor (even if you're an old hand at dealing with yeast infections) if it gets severe and doesn't respond to treatment the way it normally does. If this happens it could be a sign that the yeast infection you have isn't really a yeast infection at all. Time to go to the doctor.

The most common thing to treat a yeast infection, and it can be gotten over the counter or with a doctors prescription, is a cream that can be applied directly into the vagina in the form of a suppository. This suppository cream will allow the medicine to work overnight and it's far less messy than the old fashioned way of applying the medicated cream.

There are also pills your doctor can prescribe to help you clear up your infection. Another thing you can do that will help alleviate the symptoms of the infection while you wait for it to be cured and go away completely is a cream that can be bought over the counter that can be applied to the outside of your vagina and can help take some of the itching and burning away.

Finding a good vaginal yeast infection treatment is as close as your doctors office. The sooner you go the sooner you can have some relief.

Weight Loss Exercise Program - Keep Your Body Flexible

We have a lot of weight loss exercise program for virtually any person who wants to get in shape. No matter how much weight you want to lose, you can find a program to help you accomplish your goals. With so many options you may be wondering how to go about finding the one that's best for you. Most people will get the best results when they find a program that is something they already enjoy doing.

So, if you enjoy going to the beach, just include a nice long walk along the beach and get the exercise you need. Or you could jump in and go for a swim. No matter which way you go it will help you get the most out of your beach time, enjoy the beach and get some exercise too.

Many people who are overweight and need to get in shape are often intimidated to go to a gym, so for those people getting a video and some home exercise equipment may be the best weight loss exercise program to start.

When it comes to finding a home workout video or DVD, the options are practically unlimited. Just find one that appeals to you. If you like to dance there are probably hundreds of videos that cater to people who enjoy some type of dancing. You can find hip hop workouts, reggae workouts, line dance workouts and even pole dancing workouts. Like I said, the options are limitless.

If you are more in to the martial arts or self defense type of a workout, the same rules apply, you will have a lot of options. It's really just a matter of going online or to your local department store. If you're not sure about buying one until you've tried it and you're sure you like it, than in many cases you can rent one at a local video store. Some times you may even be able to find a library where you can rent a workout video.

Once you have found one that you like, you may want to buy it so you can keep it as long as you want it.  Although it can be a nice idea to have several workouts so you can alternate them to maximize your results by keeping your body guessing.

I've been heavy and I've been a 'hard body'. One thing I've found out over the years is that when you have a workout that you actually find fun or at least invigorating, you're much more likely to stay with it over the long term... and that is the secret to success. It's not about finding a 'quick fix' it's about finding something that you will enjoy doing for a long time to come.

To achieve your weight loss and fitness goals you will do much better if you pinpoint those things that you love to do and then try to find weight loss exercise program that fit into those passions. I don't mean to oversimplify, but that really is the best way to make the permanent lifestyle changes that you need to make to get in, and stay in, shape.

Healthy Exercise - Better Habits

Most people need healthy exercise habits imposed into their daily routine, the sooner you start the sooner you will have the body you've always wanted. Most of us are motivated by our appearance more than 'just' getting in shape. Of course, that isn't so true if you have had some health problems in the past, but under normal circumstances we want to look good for our spouse, or just fit into that cool pair of jeans you just saw.

No matter your motivation, the number one thing you can do to make it work for you is to find something that you enjoy enough (or at least don't hate) to stick with it for a period of time. You won't get in great shape in just a week or two and maintaining your good health will mean that you have to make permanent lifestyle changes. Some people may freak out at the word 'permanent' but remember, you are doing some sort of exercise that you actually like doing so doing if from now on won't be a big challenge.

Where do you start? How do you go about creating healthy exercise habits? Well, a good place to start is to make an appointment with your doctor. Make sure that you're in good enough shape to start working out. Even if you have some health issues, working out can do you a lot of good, but you may have to modify your workout to accommodate your underlying health problems. So a talk with your doctor is always a good idea.

Next, you want to figure out just what type of workout you should start with. Only you can really answer that since you want to pick something that you think you would like to do. It's important to think outside of the box. Don't get in the rut of thinking that you have to do your 30 minutes of cardio on a treadmill and than lift some weights. There is nothing wrong with that workout but there are a lot of other things you can do too.

No matter what type of workout you start with it's important for you to remember that your body will get used to whatever you do on a regular basis. So you if you are doing one type of workout for a month it may be time to 'mix it up' and try something new. That will allow your body to be 'surprised' and you can get great results if you do that on a regular basis.

Just remember, if you want to incorporate healthy exercise habits into your life, you have a ton of options from which to choose. The two most important things to keep in mind is that you need to find something you enjoy and you need to get your head around the idea that this is a lifestyle change and not just a quick fix. The better your attitude when you go in, the more you'll get out of it.

Get Rid of Yeast Infection - Candida Yeast Infection Treatment

There are many ways to get rid of yeast infection most common treatment is a cream filled suppository that can be inserted directly into the vagina and in many cases can start to offer some relief overnight. These creams are available over the counter of with a doctors prescription.
There are many factors that can allow the naturally occurring Candida albicans in your body to become overgrown and turn into an infection. Some of the risk factors can be controlled and some can not.

Something that will cause your body's natural balance to be thrown off can contribute to an infection. Menopause, your monthly cycle and pregnancy are some of the most common naturally occurring causes of imbalance in your body that can lead to an infection. Other things such as taking birth control pills, antibiotics, the use of steroids are some other common, but not so naturally occurring, things that can affect your body's Ph.

Still other outward factors can cause your hormonal balance to get thrown off. Things like a poor immune system that is caused by HIV or a patient who is undergoing chemotherapy. Too much stress and high blood sugar levels are still more potential risk factors.

As you can see, there are a lot of things that can lead to a yeast infection. Since most women will have several yeast infections during their lifetime it's good to know that there  are ways to get rid of yeast infection, maybe candida yeast infection or any other yeast infection. Below are treatment options.

Since the Candida yeast thrives in warm moist areas, the more you can cut it off from it's preferred habitat, the less likely it will be to grow out of control. For that reason you should avoid wearing tight fitting synthetic clothes.

Try to stay away from nylon underwear and panty hose. Instead use cotton underwear and wear only thigh high stockings if you simply have to wear something on your legs at all.

You also want to make sure to keep yourself clean and dry. After you go for a swim or take a shower carefully towel yourself off. Keep that area as dry as you realistically can.

Stay away from scented toilet paper or feminine pads. This scent can actually irritate the vaginal area and might increase the likelihood of an infection.

Using douches is another thing to avoid. These can completely mess up your Ph quicker than anything. You really don't need them, your body is perfectly capable of keeping that area in balance and clean (with a little help from you).

When you use the bathroom, make sure you wipe from front to back so you don't accidentally wipe bacteria from your rectum onto your vaginal area. That can cause an infection.

And one last thing, try to relax. You can decrease your immune response if you're too stressed out. That can lead to many health issues, not just yeast infections. Even if you only have a few minutes a day, try to steal some time to take a few deep breaths and calm yourself.

Looking for ways to get rid of yeast infection? Well, it's as close as your local pharmacy.

What Is The Top Home Remedy To Treat Swimmer Ear

Otitis externa is also known as 'external otitis' or more commonly 'swimmer's ear'. This is an inflammation of the outer ear and ear canal and can cause a nasty earache. Swimmers ear is a very common form of earache and get's it's name because people often develop it after swimming as it is caused by excess moisture that is left in the ear.

Although this often occurs after swimming, that is not always the case and if the conditions are right, anybody can develop swimmer's ear. Some people can become susceptible to swimmer's ear and can spend quite a bit of money on doctor visits and medications each time the infection occurs.

Those people who are susceptible to swimmer's ear, or having children that are prone to it, will often seek a home remedy that might help them relieve the pain associated with the infection or even clear the infection completely. There are a few different home remedies that can be used to treat ear infections, but the results will be determined by the severity of the infection and some remedies just work better for some people than others.

Although home remedies can be quite effective for treating ear infections, if the pain is severe you should consult a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and to make sure that it isn't anything more serious. If you suffer from swimmer's ear often then you will get to know the symptoms and can possibly treat it with home remedies if you catch it early.

If you are experienced with ear infections then you will know how they feel and whether they are bad enough to warrant a trip to the doctor or whether you can treat it with a home remedy.

Then there are times that you can develop an ear infection at night when it isn't possible to visit a doctor and home remedies can be very useful during these times to help relieve pain until morning when you can see the doctor.

Home remedies to treat swimmer's ear can often be made with ingredients that you have at home in your kitchen. One remedy that is effective is to rub a few drops of alcohol over the sore ear, this can help to stop the infection from becoming worse. Just tilt your head to the side and add no more than two drops into the ear. You can gently rub your ear or move your head to let the alcohol move around the ear canal. Let is sit for a few minutes and then rinse your ear with warm water.

A similar method to this is to use water and vinegar instead of alcohol. A mixture of 50/50 water and vinegar helps to kill the bacteria in the ear. Just apply a few drops using the same technique as above and you can sometimes see results quite fast with this remedy.

Prevention is often better than cure and in many cases swimmer's ear can be prevented by wearing ear plugs when swimming. Another way to prevent swimmer's ear is to dry your ears gently with a hair dryer, just to dry up any excess moisture after swimming. Just make sure to keep the hair dryer on a cool setting and not to have it too close to the ear.

If you suffer from swimmer's ear often then take measures to try and keep your ears dry and stop an infection from developing.

What Are The Best Antibiotic For Ear Infection

Whether you are an adult or a child, an ear infection can be excruciatingly painful.  Ear infections often begin to hurt at night, usually when doctor surgeries are closed, so it can be difficult to find a doctor and you will often need to wait until the morning.  This is where home remedies come in handy so you can at least relieve the pain somewhat until such a time that you can get to see a doctor.
There are a number of different home remedies that you can try to ease the pain of ear infection and they are all much more effective if you use them at first sign of an earache.  If your earache is severe then you might not get much relief until you have visited your doctor.

One cause of ear infections is swimmers ear which is the result of a fungal infection that has developed from moisture left in the ear canal.  This can occur after a person has been swimming and some water is left in the ear.  Although having fungus in the ear sounds really gross, this type of infection is quite easy to treat if you start treatment early.  One of the best home remedies for swimmers ear is a mixture of water and vinegar.  You mix together equal parts of water and vinegar and then place a few drops into the sore ear.  Let the mixture sit in the ear for a few minutes and then gently rinse with warm water.

The mixture of water and vinegar works by changing the pH level of the excess water in the ear and then the fungus cannot thrive in this new pH level.  If you treat this type of infection early enough the results are usually quite fast and it can clear completely overnight.  The same basic principal works for lemon juice, just squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into the ear and this also changes the pH level, killing off the fungal bacteria.

Another good home remedy is to use a warm compress against the ear.  If you don't have a wheat bag you can easily create your own with a sock and some rice.  You just pour a cup of rice into a sock and then tie off the top of the sock so the rice can't spill out.  Put the sock into the microwave and heat it for about one minute.  Placing the rice sock against the ear will help soothe the ear and relieve the pain.  If you do this repeatedly it will also help encourage draining of any buildup within the ear.

The best antibiotic for ear infection uses onion, garlic and olive oil.  First, chop the onion and garlic finely and then cook them in the olive oil on a low heat.  When the mixture has reduced, drain the oil into a glass container.  Then when the mixture is cool, place a few drops into the affected ear.  This will give some pain relief and also help to shift any wax buildup in the ear.

If you don't get results from any of these home remedies or if the pain is very severe then you should consult a doctor and get some prescribed antibiotics.  Don't give up after just trying one remedy though as some remedies work better for different people, if one doesn't work another might.  Once you know which one works for you then you will have a great remedy on hand for the next time you have an earache.

Try These Home Remedies To Treat Ear Infections in Toddlers

If your child has suffered from an ear infection then you will be aware of how painful they can be.  Children do seem to suffer more from ear infections than adults and the pain can be excruciating.  It is terrible for a parent to see their child in so much pain and not be able to help them.  The good news is that there are some effective home remedies that you can use to relieve the pain of earn infections.  If the pain persists or is very severe then you should take your child to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and possibly prescribed medication.

There are a number of reasons why ear infections occur with the main one's being bacteria growing in excess moisture in the ear (swimmer's ear) or if a child has a cold and their Eustachian tube is blocked.  Although these home remedies won't cure their cold, it can help relieve the pain of the infection.

You shouldn't rely completely on home remedies though, it is important if the pain is severe or keeps returning that you see your doctor as soon as you can.  Home remedies can be useful to treat a mild earache or to ease the pain until such a time that you can see a doctor.

The good thing about home remedies treat ear infections in toddlers is that they are made from ingredients that you will probably already have in your kitchen.  So they are there ready and waiting when you need them.  Some ingredients you may not have, but will be able to pick up from the store.  If an infection occurs at night when stores are closed, then try another remedy that you do have ingredients for.

One remedy from the kitchen is a combination of garlic and olive oil.  Simply simmer the garlic in some olive oil until the garlic cooks down a bit.  Then strain the mixture so you are left with the liquid.  Let the garlic and oil mixture cool and then apply a few drops into the troublesome ear.  You will want to do this while lying down so the sore ear is facing up.  Let the mixture sit in the ear for five to ten minutes and then gently rinse out.  This mixture is great for pain relief and the garlic also has antibiotic properties.

Another remedy is one that you may need a trip to the store to get the ingredients, which are licorice and ghee. Ghee is a clarified butter that you can find at Indian or Middle Easter markets.  Warm the two ingredients together until the have a paste like consistency.  Apply the paste around the ear (but not into the ear canal) and this should help with the pain.

Radish and mustard oil are more ingredients from the kitchen that can help you with earaches.  Finely chop some radish and heat it up in some mustard oil.  Strain the mixture so you are left with a liquid and store in a glass bottle.  Then you will have the mixture on hand whenever it is required.  Place a few drops into the sore ear for pain relief.

Lastly, this remedy might seem a little odd but many people use it and swear by it.  This one actually involved breast milk - human breast milk.  You mix the breast milk with some well ground bottle gourd until you get the consistency of paste.  Warm the mixture a little, making sure not to get it too hot, and apply to the ear.  This can be a good option for mothers with young children that develop an earache.

How To Heal Sore Muscles - After Exercise -Dont Kill Yourself

There really isn't any way around it, if you want to be healthy then you need to exercise on a regular basis. and, if you exercise like you should, you can be sure there will be times when you overdo it a bit and your muscles are sore after working out. When that happens, you want relief, and want to know how to relieve sore muscles after exercise.

Actually, not all muscle soreness comes from doing the exercise itself. A lot of people strain their muscles when stretching before partaking in physical activity. The old way of doing this was to stretch your muscles as far as you could, with the idea that you would be warming them up and allowing them to do their full range of motion when exercising. But that's no longer thought to be the best way to prevent injury.

When stretching, it's possible to tear the fibers that make up your muscles, and these tears can take quite a while to heal. Needless to say, this can further limit what you'll be able to do, and the intensity with which you can do it. This isn't good because it slows down your efforts to get healthier. If you strain your muscles too much, you may not be able to exercise at all, and that can have a long-lasting negative impact on your motivation.

But what is the best way to warm up before exercising so you won't have to relieve sore muscles after exercise? That's a great question. The current preferred method for pre-workout stretching is to go for a short walk, or use a treadmill for 5 to 10 minutes. This makes sense, because humans are designed to walk. It's a natural activity that helps warm up the muscles, with the least amount of risk of over-exerting them prior to working out.

So, what if you do all these things, but are still sore after exercising? There are a few things you can try. Some people like to use over-the-counter muscle creams. These are applied to the skin and can be quite effective at making minor muscle aches and pains go away. You may also find that taking pain relievers, like acetaminophen, will do the trick. Another thing that works for a lot of people is to apply heat to the muscle. This can be done by using a heating pad, or heat wraps. The other main method how to heal sore muscles is massage. Simply rubbing the effective area can be enough to make you feel better. If you are still experiencing soreness after trying all of these things, then you may want to talk to your doctor as it may be more than a simple muscle strain.

Putting the above tips to use should prevent you from being too sore after a workout, but if it should happen, you also have a few options for making yourself feel better.

However, your safest bet is always to see your doctor, so the following herbs are listed for informational purposes only, and not as a treatment or cure of any kind.

1. Catnip can help to unblock the urinary tract, making it easier for the stones to pass naturally. The downside is that catnip can cause gas and cramping in some people.

2. Hydrangea may aid in dissolving kidney stones, or reducing their size, making urination more comfortable. If the stones shrink, some of the pain may go away. Diarrhea is a fairly common side effect, but not everybody experiences it.

3. Cleavers (also known as goose grass) are a good remedy for several kidney and bladder issues. It is best taken as a tea, and drank daily.

Kidney stones are not only painful, they can also be dangerous. Therefore, you should do whatever you can to prevent them from forming. But if they form, you should try to get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Ear Pain Remedies - Tested

Earaches can be quite severe and excruciating and when one occurs you will usually go straight to a doctor to get some help to clear it up as soon as possible. The problem with earaches is that they often occur at night and as such it isn't that easy to see a doctor in the middle of the night. When an earache occurs at a time that is difficult to get an appointment with a doctor, it is helpful if you know some home remedies that can help you in the meantime. Also, if you are susceptible to earaches and suffer from them frequently, it can be handy to know some remedies that may help with the ear pain.

Some home remedies can be made with ingredients that you already have in the home. Remember though that everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another, so if one remedy doesn't work then you might want to try another one. Once you find one that works well for you then you will have that tool at your disposal whenever you need to use it.

Home remedies for earaches are all natural too which can often be better than using synthetic medications, although with severe ear infections you should consult a doctor and receive proper treatment. Home remedies will also save you money compared to prescription medications, so for a mild ear infection it is definitely beneficial to use your own home remedies.

A common cause of ear infections is fungus - sounds terrible I know but unfortunately we can have fungus growing in our ears which can cause a lot of ear pain. A mixture of 50% water and 50% vinegar is a great solution to get rid of fungus. Combine the water and vinegar and apply a few drops into the infected ear, let it sit in the ear for a few minutes then gently rinse with warm water. This mixture is more effective if you use it at the first sign of earache. In a severe case of ear infection this might not have as much effect.

A warm compress is also ear pain remedies. A warm compress works by stimulating the draining of any pus building in the ear which will then relieve pressure on the ear drum. The warmth of the compress can also help to give some pain relief. You can use a warm wheat bag or if you don't have one, put some rice in a sock, tie the end so it can't spill out and warm it up in the microwave for about one minute.

Lemon juice is also a very effective home remedy for ear aches. The bacteria that causes an ear infection are base pH. Lemons have an acidic pH so if you put a few drops of lemon juice into the sore ear it neutralizes the base, changing the pH so that the bacteria can no longer thrive. It usually only takes a few drops of lemon juice for the effects to take place.

One last home remedy is Hydrogen Peroxide which is often found in the medicine cabinet in most homes and is generally used for cleaning wounds to kill any germs. A few drops into an infected ear will help to kill any germs within the ear and it also helps to flush the ear canal helping to relieve the pain.

These are some very effective home remedies for treating earaches but you really should consult with a doctor if the pain persists or is severe. If you have a severe ear infection then you will need something stronger than these home remedies.

Best Way To Relieve Stress And Lose Weight

If you have been paying attention to the news lately, you have probably noticed two things: people are getting heavier, and they are experiencing a lot more stress. It's hard to imagine that this is a simple coincidence. In fact, a lot of of the complications of obesity and stress are the same. The good news is that there may be a single solution to both problems, and that is exercise. Exercise can help you lose weight by burning calories, and it can also help relieve stress by releasing feel-good chemicals known as endorphins. Let's look at both of these benefits of exercise in a bit more detail.

The more you weigh, the more physical stress you will put on your body. The question is whether or not that physical stress translates into mental stress. Unfortunately, there is no solid answer to that question yet. However, there is plenty of evidence that losing weight is one of the most important things you can do to improve your health. And you can only lose weight by burning more calories than you take in. One way to accomplish this is through exercise. You don't even have to do that much of it. As few as 30 minutes per day, most days of the week, can start to add up. What you do for exercise isn't all that important. What counts is that you are getting active and burning off some of those extra calories.

Best Way To Relieve Stress - Exercise can also reduce your level of stress by releasing endorphins. These are chemical that make you feel good, and are responsible for what's known as "runner's high". Endorphins are somewhat similar to morphine, and will help to relieve stress.

When you make exercise a part of your normal routine, the endorphins will be released more often, and you will get the stress-relieving benefits more often, too. This good feeling isn't just there during the workout, but it can last for several hours after you are finished exercising. There is also something therapeutic about exercise, as it helps you blow of steam. All of those little frustrations you face every day suddenly start to vanish. This beats the alternative of letting all of the frustration build up until you explode in an uncontrollable (and potentially dangerous) fit of rage.

Getting rid of frustration in a healthy manner is so much better than doing other things. Exercise is a natural way to handle stress, so there's no need to take questionable medications or engage in risky behaviors to forget about your troubles. If you have a lot of stress to get rid of, then have a more intensive workout. On the other hand, if you would just like to have a lower level of stress overall, then regular exercise is a smart choice. It can help you lose weight, relieve stress and be healthier, too.

Viral Ear Infection Remedies For Your Home

Infections are something that people have had to deal with for hundreds of years and while today we have antibiotics that will help clear up infections, many years ago they did not and had to rely on their own natural remedies to treat viral ear infections. Although these days we can go and get a prescription for some antibiotics, there are still many people that prefer to use home remedies whenever they can. Of course you should still seek medication attention if needed, but home remedies certainly do have their place.

Viral ear infections are one of the most common types of infections in children and they can range from mild infections to very excruciating severe infections. Here are some home remedies that can help to relieve the pain of earn infections.

Have you ever felt hopeless when your child has woken during the night, holding their ear and crying with pain? The middle of the night certainly isn't the best time to go and see a doctor and unfortunately this is often when the pain of an ear infection starts. It is these situations where home remedies can be very useful.

Home remedies usually won't cure an ear infection, unless it is a very mild ear infection. However they will ease the pain and give the child some relief. Using a home remedy during the night can help give relief for the child until you can visit a doctor in the morning.

Holding a hot water bottle over the sore ear can help to provide pain relief. Strangely enough, some also swear by holding a bag of salt over the problem ear for relieving pain.

One herbal oil that is known to fight off infection is Tea Tree Oil. This can be a great choice to help manage and cure the ear infection, however in some people it can irritate the skin and is not suitable. If your child can tolerate Tea Tree Oil on their skin then this can be very helpful.

There are other home remedies that work just as well but don't have the side effect that Tea Tree Oil has. One such extract is Otikon which is made with a few different plant extracts. The plant extracts used in Otikon produce an anesthetic property so it is a fantastic choice for pain relief.

There is another remedy that is sometimes told as a good method when in fact it is not, so this is one that you should be wary off and not use. This remedy is called 'ear candling' and it is a process where a cone made out of wax-covered paper (this is the candle) is inserted into the ear. It is then lit and this is supposed to draw out the infection. This method does not work and in fact is quite dangerous and can cause more serious medical problems. Please do not ever consider using this method as your poor child could end up with more problems than just an ear infection.

Viral ear infections if not treated can get much worse and lead to more serious problems. If an infection is minor then home remedies may be enough to treat the infection, but usually you should just use home remedies as a temporary treatment to ease the pain until you can seek proper medical attention.

Best Hangover Cures - Why Suffer

Maybe you have overdone it and need the best hangover cures, read on. If you didn't take proper precautions before you went out drinking, then you will need to treat the symptoms the morning after.

First, drink some water. Do not make it too cold and take it slowly or your stomach will rebel and the water will come right back up. Drink as much as you can to begin re-hydrating yourself, alcohol has a drying effect on the human body so you need to rehydrate as soon as possible.

Next, get some caffeine into your system. Caffeine will help the headache, especially if you take it with some over the counter pain reliever. If coffee isn't your drink then have some cold pop on hand for the morning after. If you do not have to leave your house, make the coffee and put a shot of Bailey's in it, Irish Creme Coffee cures hangover symptoms.

A nice hot shower should do the trick, too. Just let the hot water flow down over you. Have your shower hot enough to create lots of steam. The steam will open your pores and help all the toxins get washed away. Letting the water beat on your neck and shoulders will also help with that nasty headache.

If you can stomach it, have a light breakfast that is high in protein and low in fat. Eggs and toast with a little butter would be perfect. Stay away from the milk and other dairy products they will only contribute to the nausea and may cause you to vomit.

Of course there is that, too. some people need to vomit to begin to feel human again but if you are like me and you can't stand the thought of doing that then take it easy and be sure to follow the all steps above for your hangover relief.

Remember to keep drinking the water throughout your day. Stay hydrated, the more you drink the more you will have to go to the bathroom during the day and this will help flush out the bad stuff and make you feel better sooner.

To help with the re-hydration you could also get a sports drink, this will help you replenish vital electrolytes that your body needs to function properly. Remember that sports drinks are loaded with sugar to fuel your muscles during and after a strenuous workout so if sugary drinks are not for you then stay away from them.

This are the best hangover cures tips that will help you get rid of your hangover in a timely manner and you should feel better as the day goes on. Which brings me to the last, best thing that cures hangover symptoms, time. Time is the best thing you can give yourself after a night of over-indulgence. Every hour that goes by you will feel better and better. Throw in a nap or just take it easy on the couch and soon you will be back to your old self.

Best Weight Loss Exercise - Tips That Really Work

Be informed that if you want to get in shape you have to eat well and get a lot of regular exercise. A pill isn't going to do it all for you. Of course, you want to optimize the results you get from your exercise routine and these are the best weight loss exercise tips that will help you do just that.

Before you start an exercise program make sure that you talk to your doctor. This is particularly important if you're really overweight and haven't spent much time working out or if you have some underlying health problems. Ask your doctor what you need to do to modify an exercise routine so you can work around those issues.

Here are the best weight loss exercise tip that you should keep in mind and you will get more out of your workouts:

1. If possible, work out with a friend. It is much easier to stick with a workout routine if you and your friend are doing it together. There is a certain amount of peer pressure, neither of you wants to be the undisciplined one and neither of you wants to let the other one down.

2. If you are new to working out try to find a trainer to work with at least until you get a good routine worked out. After you've gotten the basics mastered you can either continue to work out with the trainer (this can be another great motivator) or, if your budget is tight you can give up the personal trainer and do it yourself.

3. Do not go nuts on the cardio aspect of your workout. Many people make this mistake. They think that spending a lot of time on the treadmill or the elliptical is good, and it is, but the problem is that your body gets used to that level of exertion and eventually your results will actually go down.

4. This one goes along with number 3, do several types of cardio exercises. Don't allow your body to get too used to a certain routine. You should change your workout routine at least every 6 weeks or so. This will really maximize your results. Another benefit of changing things up regularly is that you will lessen repetitive motion injuries that occur, you guessed it, when you do the same movements over and over again.

5. When you do weight training (and everyone should, yes, even women) don't make the mistake of going too fast when you do a repetition.  Many people go so fast that they are actually allowing momentum to do most of the work for them. This greatly decreases the effectiveness of the exercise. You want a very slow and controlled movement. Not only will you get the most out of the exercise you will also lessen the chances of injuring yourself.

6. You may not hear this one too often, but if you are in a time crunch and you can't really do a full workout (some cardio and weight training) and you have to pick one or the other, choose the weight portion of your workout. Weight training will also have a cardiovascular benefit and the boost in metabolism you get by weight training will last you long after your workout is over.

I hope you have found these weight lloss exercise tips to be helpful. To really be successful in your workout routine, it's important that you find something that you really enjoy doing and then just stick with it.

How To Deal With Insomnia - 3 Easy Ways Starting Tonight

We have millions of people that are suffering from insomnia, but i want to make them know how to deal with insomnia by showing them some things they can do to make it less of a problem. While many turn to prescription medications, they don't always work and they can have a big impact on your health and your pocketbook. Not to worry, there are other ways to deal with insomnia and we will look at some of the best ones in this article.

There are many causes of insomnia, with hormonal imbalance and stress being two of the biggest culprits. While the items below will help in a lot of cases, your case may be more severe. If so, then see your doctor as a prescription may be your best alternative. But, before you go that route, try these things first:

1. Loosen up - Okay, I'll be the first to admit that this is easier said than done, but it is the first step to beating insomnia. We all have things to worry about, but you have to find a way to let those things go before bedtime. In fact, by purposely forgetting them before retiring for the evening, you may actually solve those problems while you sleep. However, if you go to bed with the intention of solving a hard problem, then your subconscious will work differently by trying to keep you awake to solve. It all sounds counter-intuitive, but you have the best chance of solving your problems by not worrying about them before bed. At the same time, it's vital that you don't worry about how much sleep you will or won't get. Focusing on your insomnia is about the surest way to have insomnia. The key is to do things to help you unwind, to help you shift from the cares of the day to preparing to sleep.

2. Stay healthy - Exercising too close to bedtime will only serve to make it harder to fall asleep. However if you exercise several hours earlier, your body will be more ready to sleep. Eating well is important to your overall health, and this extends to how well sleep. The healthier you are, the better you will sleep. Also, sleeping well is part of being healthy, so you will see a difference if you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

3. Learn relaxation techniques - There are many different techniques designed to help people relax and sleep better. You can purchase audio programs that use a form of guided meditation to help you drift off into a deep and restorative sleep. You can also try the following technique on your own: As you lie in bed start at your toes and release all of the energy from them, letting them melt right into your mattress. Then move up to your feet, ankles, calves, knees, and all the way up to the top of your head. As you do this, you will be letting go of the tension you have built up over the course of your day and drifting off to sleep before you know it.

How To Relieve Toothache

A toothache hits!  The first thing is a dentist is called and an appointment made.  Unless there is something more serious such as an abscess, appointments are not usually instantly available.  So while the sufferer waits and endures what some people have called 'one of the most painful pains known to man', the sufferer immediately begins to hunt down a variety of how to relieve toothache that will work and ease their pain!

Which of the way how to relieve toothache that will work for each individual is dependent on what exactly is the problem with the tooth.  Problems can result from infections, blows to the mouth, decay or even food lodged between teeth or within cavities of teeth.

If the problem is that there is food or debris stuck within the teeth and it is causing pain, then a gentle swilling out of the mouth is usually effective.  What can also help is the gentle brushing of the teeth to dislodge the food.

Tow to relieve toothache for a blow to the mouth, which usually result in a swelling or even a tooth falling out, are best treated by icing the area.  In effect you treat the damaged area as you would do any other bruised area of the body.  Applying ice will help reduce the swelling and will even numb the nerves around the area and bring pain relief.

Another proven way how to relieve toothache is rinsing the mouth with salty water.  This works by cleansing the mouth and keeping any open cavities within the tooth clean, so helping to prevent painful infections.  Warm water, as opposed to cold water, should always be used so there is no painful shock to any exposed nerves.

One of the least known way how to relieve toothache involves keeping the head upright.  If you think back and analyze, a lot of toothaches will begin during the night when the sufferer is laying down asleep.  This is because in this position, pressure builds in the head and causes pain in the tooth.  So often times, simply propping yourself up in bed will bring some relief.

Further more,  something as apparently unrelated as massaging the hand with an ice cube can bring a degree of pain relief for a toothache.  Between the thumb and the forefinger, in the groove of the bone just below the V shape, an ice cube rubbed gently over this area can be immensely beneficial to anyone who is enduring a toothache.

Pretty much then, making use of these home remedies for toothaches will depend on what has caused the pain.  The good thing is that all of these remedies are fairly straight forward to implement and are proven to bring relief.

Face Eczema- Simple Remedies

Face eczema remedies are often investigated by those with this skin condition because the traditional medical creams, ointments and pills can be harsh and abrasive.  The need to take control and manage this skin condition naturally, with as few side effects as possible, is for many, the ultimate goal.

Eczema then, is a skin condition that ranges from mild to pretty extreme.  Mild being slight itching and extreme being broken, cracked and dry skin that itches and bleeds.  Add to that mix the fact that it can be socially debilitating, leaving some sufferers struggling to lead what is considered a normal and active life, and it is clear to see that it is a very serious condition.

One of the face eczema remedies that has been shown to work well is the use of natural oils.  Tea tree oil in particular has properties that help to heal and remedy the condition of eczema.  It is effective as a remedy because it not only clears up the red patches on the skin, but it also stops the itching and the swelling that can often be seen on a sufferer's skin.

An important addition to the face eczema remedies list is how to replace the necessary bath and bathroom products that are usually perfumed and scented and so cause major problems for people with eczema.  One useful tip is to on occasion bathe with oatmeal or oats.  Bathing with oatmeal and oats has been shown to relieve the irritable symptoms and conditions of eczema and leave the skin feeling supple and moist.

Children number some of the sufferers of eczema and for them this can be a particularly nasty condition to live with.  Not only are they in pain from the inflammation and the open sores that can result, children will often find it extremely difficult to stop scratching.  What can be done for children, particularly young children, to whom it can be difficult to explain what is going on, is to put mittens on their hands.  This will obviously lessen the impact of their scratching.  In the same guise, keeping the finger nails trimmed low and clean are an effective way to ease some of the symptoms of eczema.

As face eczema remedies go one that has been around for many generations is the use of cotton clothing and bedlinen to help manage the conditions.  Cotton is a natural fiber and putting this material against the skin, as opposed to man made fibers and materials, will help to lessen the problems for many an eczema sufferer.

Above all, finding the most useful remedy for eczema depends on the severity and the individual and how they choose to manage this skin condition.  What should be remembered though, is that eczema and its symptoms can be effectively minimized, but it is difficult to completely cure.

What Causes Hypoglycemia- Understand the Cause

Non hypoglycemia, also known as non diabetic hypoglycemia, is a condition where the level of glucose in your blood stream falls below a certain number and you experience symptoms. Anyone in the world can experience a hypoglycemic episode but usually hypoglycemia is caused by a medical condition or hormonal imbalance.

There are two types of non hypoglycemia, or non diabetic hypoglycemia. The first one we will discuss is Fasting Hypoglycemia. One obvious cause of fasting hypoglycemia is not eating. When you don't eat and/or skip meals your body can't get the fuel it needs so your blood sugar drops to dangerously low levels.

Fasting Hypoglycemia can also be brought on by excessive strenuous exercise. If you do not replenish your body's reserves during exercise then you will experience an episode of hypoglycemia. Fasting hypoglycemia is the type that can also be caused by a medical condition or hormonal imbalance.

A medical condition known as hyperinsulinism, or too much insulin released by your pancreas, is caused by a tumor in the pancreas. Other conditions, like Addison's disease, that affect the secretion of hormones by the pituitary gland or the adrenal glands also can cause the pancreas to secrete more insulin than is necessary to maintain healthy blood glucose levels.

What causes hypoglycemia? Excessive alcohol consumption can cause the drinker to experience a hypoglycemic episode. Alcohol
converts directly to sugar in your system and therefore stimulates the pancreas to secrete the insulin. If you do not eat the way you are supposed to when you are drinking, then you can and probably will feel the symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Reactive Hypoglycemia is a condition that may result due to a deficiency in the liver when it is required to secrete glucagon. Sugar is stored in the liver as glucagon and when the body needs a boost the liver normally secretes some into the blood stream. Liver diseases like hepatitis, cancer, or cirrhosis can inhibit the storage of glucagon.

If you have never had an episode of hypoglycemia before then you probably don't know what symptoms to look for. Hypoglycemia symptoms include feeling shaky, hungry, being unable to think clearly, pallor, sweating, anxiousness, dizziness or lightheadedness, and blurred vision. Any or all of these symptoms should say only one thing to you, EAT NOW. If you do not get something to eat when you feel these symptoms other symptoms will soon follow and they include falling into unconsciousness, convulsions and even death. Do not play around with hypoglycemia, you could get yourself into all kinds of trouble in very short order.

So, if you feel these symptoms coming on stop what you are doing and eat something to raise your blood sugar quickly. If this happens often you probably keep some hard candy or chocolate at the ready. When your blood sugar is back to within normal limits then you need to eat something a little more substantial to keep it up.

Non hypoglycemia, or non diabetic hypoglycemia, is a dangerous condition that can turn even more dangerous very quickly so learn to control it early.

Naturopathic Remedies That Work In Harmony With Your Body

Naturopathic remedies are a reliance on natural remedies that work in conjunction with body's own natural ability to cure and heal itself.  Instead of focusing on the symptoms of a disease, the way that the medical profession will often do, naturopathy focuses on the cause of the condition.  In this way the disease is seen as the body indicating that all is not well within the harmonious balance of the body and so some work must be done to rectify this.

The first step for a naturopath is to do a full and complete body physical followed by a detailed look at the lifestyle of the patient.  They will also conduct tests for allergies and look closely at the diet and the choices that the patient makes regarding food and exercise.

The conditions that can be cured and managed using naturopathic remedies are as wide and varied as though that can be cured and managed using medicines from a traditional medical professional.  These conditions range from colds and flus, through to pre-menstrual tension, obesity, irritable bowel syndrome, mental conditions, acne and hypertension to name but a few.

Once you believe that the body does have the ability to heal and repair itself, then what must be done is for the body to be given the correct environment in which to do so.  Therefore the basis of all good naturopathic remedies are founded on the belief that what goes into the body is important.  Never was the saying you are what you eat! truer than in naturopathic healing.

Wholegrain foods, fruits and vegetables, backed up with the right balance of minerals and nutrients for each individual will undoubtedly help the body to heal and recondition.  Processed and fatty foods should always be avoided as these types of foods have ingredients and additives that have been altered by man and these will disrupt the body's natural processes and throw it out of harmony.  Avoid also processed sugars, salts and stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and nicotine.

Without a doubt, perhaps one of the best known naturopathic remedies is acupuncture.  Acupuncture has always been popular throughout the world and still today, the interest and use of this ancient Chinese treatment continues to grow.  This is no surprise since the principles that underline acupuncture are based on the philosophy that our bodies work better when the energy within us can flow naturally and correctly.  When our energy pathways become blocked, we become ill.  Acupuncture works by clearing these energy pathways and so helps us to heal.

Above all these remedies are based on the specific needs and conditions of each individual.  That means they can often produce a much more beneficial healing result than the more conventional medicines.

What Is Considered Low Blood Sugar

Low blood sugar, also called hypoglycemia, can be caused by many different things. The good news is that it is preventable as long as you keep it under supervision. Some kids tend to have problems with low blood sugar more than others. There are common signs that you can keep an eye out for. Once you notice some signs of low blood sugar in your kid, you can then change habits to control the blood sugar levels.

What is considered low blood sugar symptoms can seem to show up out of the blue. people often have big mood swings and we often dismiss them as "a phase" but it can often be a sign of fluctuating blood sugar levels. As a matter of fact, an ADD diagnosis is often the incorrect diagnosis for a child who suffers from hypoglycemia.

Some other common signs of hypoglycemia are turning pale, pounding heart and clammy or shaking hands. The child may not be able to let you know that they feel like they need to eat. They also may be feeling signs of headache or irritability but simply can not convey that to you. If you don't know that this is the first signs of low blood sugar, you might well just write it off as your child having a bad day or throwing a temper tantrum.

If you start to notice one or more of these warning signs, the best thing to do is give your child a quick sugar spike. Fast acting sugar in the form of juice, dextrose tablets or just a spoonful of sugar can help alleviate the symptoms. You don't need a lot either, just 4 ozs. of sweetened fruit juice or 2 tbsp. of sugar will be all that is needed. This quick dose of sugar will usually reverse the symptoms in just a few minutes.

If you want to stop the problem before it starts, all you have to do is make sure your child eats at regular intervals throughout the day. Having too long of a time period between meals, especially if your child is getting a lot of physical activity, can cause a drop in blood sugar.

It's easy to have changes in your schedule from one day to the next, but your people system isn't going to be able to handle those changes as well as you would. Try to keep them on a set schedule from one day to the next, no matter how crazy your schedule gets.

Make sure, too, that you don't feed your self with high carbohydrate meals. When there are a lot of carbs in a meal, your body thinks that it is getting too much sugar and it produces more insulin. The problem is that with a high carb meal, the increase in insulin can cause blood sugar levels to drop dramatically.

Any child can be susceptible to low blood sugar, not just kids with diabetes. Low blood sugar can affect anyone at any age. Low blood sugar child isn't a big deal and can be easily prevented.

Symptoms Low Blood Sugar

Skipping meals is just one low blood sugar cause you need to avoid. When you skip meals your body is starved for nutrients and doesn't really know what to do with itself. When your body does not know what to do with itself it will eventually tell you it needs food by sending signals that it needs to eat.
There are some symptoms low blood sugar that your body sends out are blurred vision, dizziness, mental confusion, sweating, weakness, and abnormal behavior. When you experience these symptoms the only thing that should enter your mind is to get something to eat to raise your blood sugar as fast as you can.

Hard candy, a glass of milk, or a peanut butter and honey sandwich are all good choices to raise your blood sugar quickly. Peanut butter and honey is my favorite because the honey will bring your blood sugar up quickly and the peanut butter will hold it there. You can also try orange juice with some sugar dissolved into it too. If you do the juice thing you need to make sure you eat something more substantial afterward to keep your blood sugar within normal limits.

Normal levels of blood sugar are supposed to be between 70 and 110 mg/dl. When you consistently fall below the level of 70mg/dl then you are considered hypoglycemic and must get treatment started right away. Hypoglycemia is considered a forerunner of diabetes. Your doctor will no doubt have yoiu start checking your blood sugar and keeping a log every day. After a month or so of keeping this log then he or she will want to see it to see where your blood sugars tend to be at certain times during the day. This will help your doctor personalize a treatment for you.

If you are diabetic, low blood sugar cause may be attributed to your medication. If you have been on the same dose of insulin for some time you need to discuss with your doctor a medication adjustment if you have been having episodes of hypoglycemia especially during the night or first thing in the morning. There are a number of different types of insulin that you can use to control your diabetes.

Other causes that contribute to hypoglycemia are eating too many carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are converted into sugar very quickly after ingesting them and this causes a spike in your blood sugar. With your blood sugar spiking, your pancreas responds by flooding your bloodstream with insulin to take care of the increased sugar level.

The only problem is that the sugar spike caused by carbohydrates is short lived and the amount of insulin pumped into your bloodstream ends up to be too much and when the sugar is metabolized then you are left with a sharply dropping blood sugar and you find you have to eat again very shortly to bring your blood sugar back up.

Eating several small meals throughout your day is the best way to combat and control your low blood sugar problems. No more missing meals, not eating enough at a meal, drinking in excess, or even strenuous exercise can be low blood sugar cause.

Home Remedies For You Where To Start

Home remedies have been with us for centuries and just like most things their popularity ebbs and flows.  Right now the popularity of all things natural is on the rise and many are on the look out to understand and gather some of the many home remedies that are out there.  But just how do you go about finding home remedies for you that will work for you?

Your first step to finding home remedies for you that work is to start off with the most simple and straightforward remedies that you can find.  If you have never seriously researched and investigated natural home remedies, then jumping in and trying to treat a major disease or condition without the advice and support of your conventional doctor is not advised and should be avoided.
Often times most people will use natural remedies for straightforward everyday injuries and conditions and that's where you should start.

Gout Diagnosis

Gout is one of those diseases around which there has grown myths and half-truths and it is no wonder then that gout diagnosis have themselves too become the stuff of misinformation.
Once considered the disease of aristocrats and rich old men, gout has since thrown off that guise and is now recognized as an arthritic disease of the joints that can affect anyone regardless of social background.

Basically gout is caused by a build up of uric acid in the tissues around the joints.  Uric acid is the waste product from the purines found in some foods and this acid goes on to form crystals that are deposited around the tissues and joints.  It is these crystals that cause the intense pain, typically in the big toe, that the gout sufferer endures.

Alcohol, particularly yeasty beers should also be reduced or even cut out of a gout sufferers diet.  This is because beer encourages the body to produce uric acid which for anyone looking to manage and reduce their attacks of gout, is not something that should be encouraged.

Cherries are pretty much seen as the champion fighters of gout and many a gout sufferer is urged to include cherries into their regular diets because they so effectively reduce the levels of uric acid that causes the painful crystals to form underneath the affected joints.

Applying an ice pack to the inflamed joint is also one of the gout diagnosis that has been proven to work and give ease to the gout sufferer.  The ice pack will help to reduce the swelling and can even be wrapped in a towel around the affected joint for prolonged relief.  In the same way, the affected joint can be held under a running cold tap for a couple of minutes as this has been shown to give some ease.

Overall what has been proven to be a winning home remedy for gout is to keep the body weight down to a healthy level, cut out those foods listed, keep well hydrated and take as much regular exercise as is at all possible.

What Causes Hypoglycemia- Caffeine ?

If you cannot make it through the day without having a shot or two of caffeine, hypoglycemia may be caused by a condition called adrenal fatigue. You may be experiencing hypoglycemia signs and symptoms and not know why. You know you always eat when you are supposed to and do not overindulge in sweets. Still, hypoglycemia is becoming quite the problem in your life.

Living a stress-free life is important for you to be able to function on a daily basis to the best of your ability. Every aspect of your life is affected when you are stressed.

Stress is one of those things that creeps up on you slowly. Then all of a sudden it has gotten a hold of you and you find yourself in trouble.

You need to determine what the major source of your stress is. Are you getting the correct amoount of sleep at night? Do you eat right? Are you exercising at least 30 minutes every day? Is your day full of negative emotions and anxiety? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then you probably need to fortify yourself by drinking caffeine several times a day this is part of what causes hypoglycemia.

If you cannot think clearly unless you have the caffeine hypoglycemia may be the real culprit. Instead of drinking a caffeinated beverage, or at least in addition to, try eating a healthy snack of raw veggies or a piece of fruit and maybe some yogurt in the middle of your day for a nice pick-me-up.

Hypoglycemia is a result of adrenal fatigue because the adrenal gland does not produce the correct levels of epinephrine, norepinephrine, and cortisol to aid the body in the battle against stress. Because these hormones are not at the correct levels in the body then you may find you crave sugar and sweets and even crave caffeine.

Do you eat fast or slow? If you just absolutely get so hungry you can't hardly stand it and then when food is available you eat as if someone is going to take it away from you, you may be suffering from hypoglycemia. If you get real shaky and irritable before you eat also, you may be experiencing low blood sugar.

Pay attention to how you feel right after you eat and then an hour or two later. Does your energy crash and burn after a couple of hours? You may be short on cortisol. Not only does cortisol help you survive the stress in your life, it also helps prevent too much glucose from being absorbed by your blood cells. This is also how cortisol adds to belly fat, the glucose is not used by your blood cells and the insulin will store the excess sugar as fat and deposit that fat in your belly.

If you have adrenal fatigue then your body will experience a burst of energy followed by a lull in energy making you feel like you need to either eat again or drink something with caffeine hypoglycemia is the real culprit in this situation.
